Welcome to Your History
Welcome to your History - Williamsburg History.
Like most communities that were formed in the 1600's in what is now America - these early Ancestors made their way day to day off the land and the sea. The sea in our area being the James, York, and Chickahominy Rivers and all the land in between that we now refer to as Williamsburg.
The Rivers were the roads and these Ancestors traversed back and forth - making their homes by fame, fortune, force, fight and might.
We will be exploring all that here. Please join us on the journey to discover the Ancestors - the People, their Place, and map their journey with us as we find your story - your WILLIAMSBURG HISTORY.

It's About You

History of People and Place
Looking Upriver on the James to Burwell's Wharf where many people and goods entered Kingsmill Plantation to head to Williamsburg. You can still see the leftover pilings of the wharf in the water today. They are located at the end of the video and to the far right of the cliffs.
